I am thoroughly enjoying being back in Nepal once again and having the opportunity to visit various projects plus enjoy being in this beautiful country. The politics have not progressed much, so unfortunately the government leadership and initiatives remain stagnant and consequent economics and infrastructure limited. The country is however safe to visit in my opinion for those of you thinking of travelling here.

The good news is that various Nepali individuals regardless of the politics and economics do have vision and heart – so I have new ideas and projects to introduce!

I have spent some lovely time with Sarada, the children and mothers (Hari, Bishnu & Krishna),including during the time of the Teehar festival, which is in my view, one of the most beautiful festivals, celebrating the connection between brothers and sisters & And I have LOTS of good news to report!

I write this sitting up in the volunteer room, taking a few minutes break while the children are about playing in various ways. School holidays have started, exams finished two days before and the next three weeks is play-time! The next school year starts April 22nd. The children are all doing really well at school, our after-school tutoring has continued to make a real difference in both their enjoyment of learning and their results. I thought you might enjoy having a small snap-shot from my point of view the developments and changes in each of the children...

We provided for three days co-operative management & operations training for the Board members and staff and interested member of our Jutpani village microcredit group. The women have reported, that they now feel much more confident in operating the cooperative and are now expressing interest in doing further training, so they can continue to grow the village cooperative and include more new members and involve the surrounding villages too!

First, a really big thank you to each of you, who have made a contribution and helped us to get where we are today!!

Sarada and I have been evaluating many aspects of our children home this past week during my time here. In many ways the Home is going wonderfully well - the children are healthy and happy, they have achieved top marks in their school, including a few of them gaining distinctions. Many behavioural problems that they arrived with have shifted and changed, allowing them to become better adjusted and integrated with other children and adults.
